Product Overview

Security metre seals (also known as twisting route seals or utility seals) are specialised, compact tamper-evident devices used to secure infrastructure endpoints, measuring equipment and critical control valves. They are the first line of defence against utility theft, unauthorised calibration and supply fraud.Unlike general transit seals, metre seals are transparent on the outer body and the locking wire can be customised, so any mechanical bypass attempt or internal shimming attack is visible.

One-time use, tamper-evident metal security seals known as metal strap seals (or iron strip seals) are used. They are generally used for logistics containers, trucks, tankers and warehouse doors. Once locked, they can only be removed by force cutting, doing permanent damage. This guarantees the integrity of goods during transport and storage.

Reason for Choice

RFID anti-tamper bolt seals are the core infrastructure for logistics digital transformation. They adopt a "physical + electronic" dual-protection design to solve the conflict between supply chain security and efficiency. These seals are necessary and indispensable requirements, both for adapting to the advent of smart customs supervision and for improving corporate risk control.

FAQ

Q1: RFID seals cost a lot more than traditional seals. Are they worth the investment?

A: Yes, the long-term gains are enormous:

90% reduction in manual inventory time, reducing labour costs dramatically.

Reduced inventory shrinkage and protection against product substitution (especially for high value items).

Automated data capture that eliminates expensive customs delays and compliance penalties.

Security record is verifiable and tamper-evident. This means you could get lower insurance premiums.

Q2: Is it possible to read an RFID seal that has been violently damaged?

A: Is it readable in the normal way? A: No. Physical tampering destroys the internal antenna and the tag responds with a specific error code (e.g. "0000"). This is flagged instantly by the system as "tampered" and is far more reliable than a normal visual inspection.

Q3: Will metal containers block RFID signals?

A: Specialised anti-metal engineering provides the best performance. The back of the chip is made of wave-absorbing materials to protect the tag and reflect electromagnetic waves back to the reader, achieving an identification rate of over 99% on metal surfaces.

Q4: Is the seal reusable?

A: No way. These seals have a one-time locking mechanism which is irreversibly 'broken' when opened. Reusing them defeats the purpose of tamper-evidence and is illegal under international customs regulations.
